For me, art is the lifeblood. Art is another, more humane, point of view for our society that depends on the constant growth of economy.

I am an almost graduated student at the University of Lapland. I’m studying art education. Being an artist and an art teacher goes hand-in-hand in my thinking. They are both important for me. Making art and teaching art works together reflectively. My own art making process and discussions and working with other people support and strengthen each other. Teaching art brings another point of view also for the school-world. The schoolworld also lies today on the effeciency-thinking which is limiting creativity. Art is another point of view which can be an alternative for all of us, one way or another.

I use many different materials and techniques in my art. I make performances, videos and installations, draw and paint. I don’t want to get stuck using one technique or just one theme. I choose a material which helps me the best way to show my thoughts. For me Russia is a great source of inspiration, maja myza. I was one year (2008-2009) an exchange student in Saint Petersburg in the State academy of art and design. Most of my figure-paintings and drawings, shown on this site, are works from my period of studying there. Russia interests me in many different levels: language, culture, art, animations, toys, history, politics, people, places, architecture, the way how the people take over the surrounding space and so on. From Russia, I have also found a concrete view of my own mind. Through art I travel to these views of my mind over and over again and deeper and deeper. And I hope that these views of my mind that I’m presenting, my art, can bring something new to someone else’s lives as well. Maybe even offer a different kind of aspect to the everyday life.
